Richard Greenhous

Biography

Richard Greenhous is Director of Forest Services at the Forestry Commission England, where he leads the Forestry Commission’s work to protect, improve and expand England’s woodlands. Joining the Commission in November 2011, Richard’s Civil Service career spans several Whitehall departments, including the Cabinet Office, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Department for Communities and Local Government. Prior to joining the Forestry Commission, Richard spent several years working on green growth in East London and the Thames Gateway, including Olympic legacy. Foremost amongst his current priorities is leading Forestry Commission England’s contribution to the delivery of the forestry and woodlands related elements of Government’s 25 Year Environment Plan, including the manifesto commitment to plant 11m trees this parliament.
