Sarah Teather
Biography
Sarah Teather served as Minister of State for Children and Families from May 2010 to September 2012. She was elected Liberal Democrat MP for Brent Central in May 2010.
Sarah studied natural sciences at St John’s College, Cambridge. After university, she worked in science policy in the public and private sectors. She began her career at the Royal Society, advising the government on scientific aspects of public policy, later working in science policy consultancy where she evaluated public policies on science and innovation for governments across Europe. Immediately before her election, Sarah was working as a health and social policy analyst for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Sarah has held several shadow roles, including Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform from 2007 to 2008 and Shadow Minister for Housing from 2008 to 2010.
