Simon Donnan

Biography

Simon joins Dstl from the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) where he worked as Head of Delivery Support, leading a range of business activity in the performance, risk, asset management and digital systems spheres.

Simon also undertook an interim appointment as DIO’s Director of Regional Delivery, leading Hard and Soft Facilities management, safety and compliance and programme delivery, leading around 1500 staff and overseeing an annual infrastructure and services delivery budget of circa £1bn.

Simon previously worked at the Defence Nuclear Organisation ’s (DNO) Warhead Directorate, working closely with the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) and leading key organisational change initiatives with Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) and the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA).

Previously, Simon worked in a number of capability and strategic analysis roles in what is now known as Strategic Command; in International Policy Planning within the MOD Head Office and at the Cabinet Office.

The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for leading a set of diverse business enabling operations spanning Commercial/Procurement, Facilities, IT, Transformation Programmes, Health/Safety and Security.
