Simon Sapper
Biography
Simon Sapper has 30 years’ experience as a senior national trade union official, first with Prospect and then the Communications Workers’ Union.
He is currently Director of Makes-You-Think Consultancy, a trustee of Unions 21, and also sits on the boards of Liberty. His specialist areas include young workers and the Taylor Review.
Simon was appointed to the Low Pay Commission on 18 June 2018 and his appointment has been extended several times since his first term ended on 17 June 2021. His current term ends on ends on 30 September 2027.
Low Pay Commissioner
The Low Pay Commission is a social partnership, made up of Commissioners with experience representing employers, those with experience representing employees and independent Commissioners with expertise in relevant areas. This role is a Commissioner with experience representing employees.
