Susie Warran-Smith CBE DL

Biography

Susie Warran-Smith CBE DL has been a Non-Executive Director at HM Revenue and Customs since October 2023.

She founded the award-winning tax company, Breakthrough Funding, which was sold to EY (Ernst & Young) in 2020.

She went on to become an Executive Director (Europe, Middle East, India and Africa) there, until her retirement 2 years later. 

In 2022 she became a Commander of the British Empire for services to small business in Queen Elizabeth II’s New Year Honours list and a Deputy Lieutenant of the county of Kent. 

For 6 years she was a non-executive member of the Audit and Risk Committee at the Department for Communities and Local Government (now DLUC) and has been a trustee of Lantra Sector Skills Council.
