Tim Archer
Biography
Tim joined the SIA in June 2024 as Executive Director of Licensing and Standards.
Career
Prior to joining the SIA, Tim worked at the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) for thirteen years, most latterly as Ombudsman Director, responsible for operations, casework approach and external engagement for Pensions, Investments and Mortgage complaints. Whilst at the FOS, Tim was responsible for the expansion of the service’s jurisdiction to include small businesses and was also previously Director of PPI.
Before the FOS, Tim worked for Barclays Bank for thirteen years in a number of roles, including as an Area Director running retail branches. As head of Cash Performance he was responsible for providing sterling and foreign currency to Barclays branches, ATMs and commercial banking customers, including managing relationships with external cash-in-transit suppliers.
Tim is also a Non-Executive Director on the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee and Advisory Board of the Housing Ombudsman Service.
