Tom Duke
Biography
Tom Duke was His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner to China from July to September 2023. Immediately prior to this Tom served as Deputy HM Trade Commissioner in the British Embassy Beijing.
As one of 9 Trade Commissioners appointed by the British government to promote the UK in important global markets and the head of the Department for Business and Trade in China, Tom was in charge of all bilateral trade issues. He worked closely with His Majesty’s Ambassador in Beijing to promote UK trade and prosperity.
Tom has 15 years of experience working in China and East Asia, in both the public and private sectors. From 2011 to 2019, Tom was head of the UK’s intellectual property network in China.
