Vinay Talwar

Biography

Mr Talwar has been appointed His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Djibouti and UK Representative to the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).  He joined the UK diplomatic service in 2003 and has had postings to New York, Geneva, Brussels, Guatemala, Peru, Sudan, South Sudan, Mauritania, India, Myanmar, New Zealand, France and Ireland.  In London, he spent two years on secondment to the UK Parliament at the House of Commons.

British Ambassador to Djibouti

The Ambassador represents His Majesty The King and the UK government in the country to which they are appointed. They are responsible for the direction and work of the embassy and its consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
