Wendy Morton MP

Biography

Wendy Morton was Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury (Chief Whip) between 6 September 2022 and 25 October 2022.

Previously she was Minister of State in the Department for Transport from 8 February 2022 to 6 September 2022.

She was a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department for Transport from December 2021.

Wendy was Minister for Europe and Americas at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). Wendy was appointed as a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Department for International Development on 13 February 2020.

Wendy was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Ministry of Justice from 26 July 2019 to 13 February 2020 and Assistant Government Whip from 9 January 2018 to 26 July 2019.

Wendy was first elected as Conservative MP for Aldridge-Brownhills in May 2015. She was a member of the International Development Committee from 2015 until 2018.

Wendy attended The Wensleydale School Leyburn, and then studied at the Open University.

Before becoming a Member of Parliament, Wendy began her career in Her Majesty’s Diplomatic Service, before working in the private sector in sales and marketing.

Personal life

Wendy’s passions include walking, cookery, art deco and ceramics. She is married to her husband Dave.
