Details

As set out in the consultation response, we are changing the way we calculate the 16 to 19 discretionary bursary funding allocations from academic year 2020 to 2021.

To help you understand how we will apply the new methodology, we have published two short videos:

16 to 19 discretionary bursary allocations methodology, An overview of the revised methodology

16 to 19 discretionary bursary allocations methodology, An overview of the revised methodology

Indicative allocations for the 16 to 19 discretionary bursary fund, Details regarding the changes to the allocations methodology

Indicative allocations for the 16 to 19 discretionary bursary fund, Details regarding the changes to the allocations methodology

We have also published guidance to explain your discretionary bursary indicative allocation calculation toolkit. We have sent the toolkit to all institutions in receipt of 16 to 19 funding allocations. The toolkit shows how we would have used your data to calculate your discretionary bursary funding for 2019 to 2020 if we had applied the new methodology.
