We have updated this page to confirm that from academic year 2025 to 2026, students eligible for both the advanced maths premium and core maths premium will not receive core maths premium funding if they’re enrolled on advanced maths premium-eligible qualifications in the same academic year. This ensures funding is better targeted to increase participation in maths education for students not already supported by the advanced maths premium.

We’ve updated the first line in section 2.1 to make it clearer that students attract core maths premium funding in the first year of their core maths qualification.
