This year’s Rail Accident Investigators seminar welcomed speakers from Network Rail, RSSB and Dr Patrick Waterston of Loughborough University as well as some of our own inspectors.

The presentations included:

  • Understanding how causal factors contribute towards track worker accidents and near misses
  • Investigating the assurance arrangements
  • Investigating compliance to 019
  • Investigating loss of data on Cambrian lines
  • The importance of Corporate Memory in accident investigation
  • The use of Safety II in rail accident investigations
  • RCIP - A new approach to road collision investigation
