Details

This year’s Rail Accident Investigators seminar welcomed speakers from Network Rail, along with Professor Amina Memon from Royal Holloway, University of London. Allan Spence kindly introduced the seminar with a keynote speech. There were also presentations from some of our own inspectors.

The presentations included:

  • An overview of the derailment at Carmont
  • Establishing timelines from train data
  • Investigating Geotechnical issues at Carmont
  • Understanding the derailment mechanism at Carmont -Investigating the fires
  • Investigating organisational factors in 10 easy steps
