Release
The information you requested is shown in the table below. The percentages provided in the table are not directly comparable with those published in the Statistical First Release (SFR) ‘A level and equivalent results in England, 2011 to 2012 (Revised)’.
Due to the complexity involved with producing figures which include GCE Double and Combined A/AS Awards, the numerator used to calculate the percentages shown in the table is restricted to A levels only. The numerator used to calculate the percentages published in the SFR includes A levels, Applied A levels and Double Award A levels. The denominator used is the same in each case and is the total number of students entered for A levels, Applied A levels and Double Award A levels: the majority of these entries are at A level.

Table notes:
- Age in years at the start of the 2011 to 2012 academic year, ie 31 August 2011.
- Note that each successive grade combination by definition includes the relevant higher grade combinations: for example AAA or better also includes those pupils achieving AAA* or better.
- Number of students entered for A levels, Applied A levels and Double Award A levels.
