Our values

We serve with integrity, honesty, objectivity and impartiality.

Our vision

A skilled, innovative and ambitious Civil Service equipped for the future. We will renew the Civil Service together to deliver on our purpose of providing high quality advice to the Government, outstanding services to the public and safeguarding the UK’s prosperity and security at home and overseas.

As the world continues to change and technology advances, the expectations of the public who rely on us grow greater. We too need to keep changing so that we can continue to deliver for the people and communities we serve.

Our five change priorities

Building on this vision we’re focusing on five change priorities. These are areas where we can work together to unlock improvements across the Civil Service:

  • Capability: a skilled Civil Service that is able to adapt to the needs of the public we serve
  • Place: representative of the communities we serve and that provides a thriving presence across the country
  • Delivery: collaborative, routinely working across organisational barriers, with a culture of excellence in service delivery
  • Digital and Data: able to harness the power of digital and data to make better decisions, improve service delivery and enhance user experience
  • Innovation: rewards and encourages our staff to find innovative solutions to problems in order to deliver better outcomes for the public
