Details

The UK government’s Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda aims to strengthen the UK’s ability to reduce the impact of conflict on women and girls and achieve gender equality.

The Shared UK Government Approach to Gender in Syria brings together the UK’s WPS commitments alongside other gender-related commitments. It sets out how the UK government will use the full range of levers available to us in our work in Syria to support change for women and girls.

The approach focuses on 3 strategic outcome areas:

  • programme and policy
  • decision-making
  • sexual and gender-based violence
