This document sets out our strategy for tackling bovine tuberculosis (TB) - an infectious disease of cattle - in England.

The aim of the strategy is to achieve Officially Bovine Tuberculosis Free (OTF) status for England by 2038. The strategy has been produced after extensive consultation.

The strategy sets out a comprehensive and adaptive, risk-based and staged approach informed by the best available evidence and scientific and veterinary advice, and drawing upon demonstrably successful approaches to address bovine TB from around the world.

The strategy will involve partnership working with a range of stakeholders, achieving a fair balance of costs and supported responsibility and working effectively in the European Union.
