Home information packs were suspended in May 2010 on the grounds that the policy to abolish them was a commitment in the coalition agreement and swift action could prevent market uncertainty.

It is now proposed to abolish home information packs via primary legislation. This impact assessment updates the assessment published when Home information packs were suspended.
