Paper prepared by academics as a rapid expert consultation response to a request from the US Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) on the effectiveness of fabric face masks. This paper was available for participants to read at SAGE 40 on 4 June 2020, but not considered or discussed in the meeting. As new evidence or data emerges, SAGE updates its advice accordingly.
