Citation

This determination may be cited as the 2024 to 2025 Accelerating Reform Fund for adult social care [No 31/7516].

Purpose of the grant

The purpose of the grant is to provide support to local authorities in England towards expenditure lawfully incurred or to be incurred by them in funding adult social care.

This grant is made available to support local authorities with the cost of funding projects that deliver the department’s priorities for innovation and scaling in adult social care.

Determination

The Minister of State determines the authorities to which grant is to be paid and the amount of grant to be paid. The authorities and the amounts are set out in Annex A.

Grant conditions

This is a non-ringfenced grant contribution to be paid to local authorities towards implementing projects in line with the department’s priorities for innovation and scaling in adult social care. There are no conditions on the grant.

As set out in the memorandum of understanding, local authorities will be expected to share learning and best practice with the evaluation partner, other local authorities and the Department of Health and Social Care.

Subsidy control

Local authorities should ensure they comply with their obligations under the Subsidy Control Act 2022 and the relevant UK subsidy control statutory guidance.

Before making this determination in relation to local authorities in England, the Minister of State obtained the consent of the Treasury.

Signed by authority of the Minister of State for Care.
