Details

Part 10 of the National Health Service Act 2006 requires the production of documents to counter fraud in the health service upon request.

This is carried out under the Secretary of State’s counter fraud functions. The Secretary of State has delegated counter fraud responsibilities to a national body and its authorised officers.

This code of practice sets out the best practice to be followed by authorised officers in securing, using and handling documents. It can also be used by anyone in the NHS who may be requested to produce documents.
