IN October 2021, HMRC’s Accounting Officer undertook a review of the Debt Respite Programme.

This programme was established to enable HMRC to efficiently comply with its legal obligations in relation to the Debt Respite Scheme (without the need for onerous and expensive manual interventions).

The Accounting Officer concluded that the programme is value for money and deliverable.
