The planning application assessment toolkit helps to gather evidence and assess the active travel merits – walking, wheeling and cycling – of a development proposal.
Design and transport consultants are encouraged to complete the toolkit and include it within planning applications that meet the thresholds for consulting Active Travel England (ATE). Local authority officers can use the toolkit within assessments of development proposals.
