At the request of the Department of Justice (Northern Ireland) (DoJ), the Government Actuary’s Department carried out an actuarial valuation of the Northern Ireland police pension scheme as at 31 March 2016. The valuation was undertaken in accordance with the Public Service Pensions (Valuations and Employer Cost Cap) (Amendment) Directions (Northern Ireland) 2019, which specify certain assumptions and require other assumptions to be DoJ’s best estimates.
