This paper provides an update on measures announced at Autumn Statement 2023 to address water scarcity in Greater Cambridge in order to support the sustainable growth of the city. It sets out a plan to ensure the long-term water supply of the area, and to address water scarcity issues in the short-term so that development currently stalled can proceed. It is published alongside a joint statement issued by MHCLG, Defra, the Environment Agency and Greater Cambridge councils (Cambridge City and South Cambridgeshire districts).
