MVP process maps

Updated 27 September 2024

Applies to England

Following an announcement by the Chancellor of the Exchequer on 29 July 2024, the planned adult social care charging reforms, which were inherited from the previous government, will not be taken forward in October 2025.

The process maps below accompany the MVP software requirements specification document. They show the anticipated processes for an individual’s user journey, including:

  • set-up of their care account
  • provision of ongoing care
  • care account review, needs review and financial review
  • annual changes to rates
  • short-term or one-off variations
  • changes of circumstance

Like the user stories (available in the accompanying spreadsheet User stories and data points), the process maps include non-mandatory elements which are not part of the requirements for the MVP.  These are shown in green text on a white background.
