Table of allocations

Care Quality Commission (CQC) Care Directory with Filters, May 2020. The small number of care home beds assigned to Flintshire or Unspecified are excluded from the calculation.
Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) Area Cost Adjustment. Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole council and Dorset council (both created in April 2019) have been assigned an ACA of 1 as their predecessor councils of Bournemouth, Poole, and Dorset County Council all had an ACA of 1.
Method
The allocation shares for each local authority are calculated as [Number of care home beds * Area Cost Adjustment] / England sum of [Number of care home beds * Area Cost Adjustment]. The Area Cost Adjustment reflects differences in wages and prices in different local authorities.
Note: it is expected that each care home should receive an amount per CQC registered bed, representing 75% of the funding. The remaining 25% to be allocated by the local authority to care homes or domiciliary care providers and support wider workforce resilience.
