Merz complained to MHRA about an article on botulinum toxin treatments published in the Daily Mail Online on 30 May 2014. They alleged that the article was likely to be as a result of briefings by Allergan and, if so, Allergan had promoted Botox, a prescription-only medicine (POM), to the public.
MHRA did not uphold the complaint. Allergan confirmed that they had no involvement in the development of the article, which was also confirmed by the journalist who wrote the article.
