Two healthcare professionals complained to MHRA about adverts for fluconazole 150 mg from Clear Chemist and Chemist4U. The complainants were concerned that a discounted offer of 3 packs of fluconazole on Groupon & Wowcher did not promote rational use of the product.
MHRA did not uphold the complaint.
Both pharmacies provided evidence that sales are reviewed by a pharmacist and that procedures are in place to ensure the rational use of fluconazole when deciding whether or not to dispense it to a patient.
