ACMD chair, Owen Bowden-Jones, writes to Victoria Atkins to recommend that the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 is not the appropriate control mechanism for 2,4-Dinitrophenol (DNP).

This letter provides the ACMD’s response to a Home Office commission for advice on the appropriate control mechanism for 2,4-DNP. It concludes that the substance is a poison and not a drug.
