Details

On 9 June 2023 the Minister of State for Crime, Policing and Fire commissioned the ACMD to provide advice on changes to the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001 to enable legitimate use of nitrous oxide. This included advice on appropriate scheduling to enable medical-related uses and how to enable non-medical-related, lawful uses, including industrial uses.

The ACMD provided their advice on the 11 August, and the government responded to these on the 5 September.
