The pre-matching process is part of the Afghan citizens resettlement scheme and the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy.

Under the pre-matching process, people can be given settled accommodation before it’s ready to live in, as long as:

  • they accept the accommodation offer before they’re required to leave bridging accommodation
  • it’s ready to move in by 31 December 2023

This document explains how the pre-matching process will work.
