Details of the applications

Aggregate Industries UK Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for two licences.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of these applications in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number MD/054/0002/046 which authorises the abstraction of water from underground strata comprising of Pre-Cambrian Bayston-Oakswood Formation at Haughmond Hill Quarry, Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

The variation applied for is to change the single point of abstraction to an abstraction area between the following National Grid References (NGRs):- SJ 53666 15005, SJ 54504 15005, SJ 54504 13781 and SJ 53666 13781 and extend the period of abstraction for dust suppression to all year.

Aggregate Industries UK Limited has also applied for an application to vary licence serial number MD/054/0002/047 to abstract water from underground strata comprising of Pre-Cambrian Bayston-Oakswood Formation at Haughmond Hill Quarry, Shrewsbury, Shropshire for the purpose of transferring it without intervening use to the Sundorne Brook at National Grid Reference SJ 5430 1497.

The variation applied for is to change the single point of abstraction to an abstraction area between the following NGRs:- SJ 53666 15005, SJ 54504 15005, SJ 54504 13781 and SJ 53666 13781.
