The Committee’s 2020 AI report made recommendations to government, regulators and public bodies, to assist in the development of a stronger and more coherent regulatory and governance framework for AI in the public sector.
Three years on, it is clear that AI developments have moved on at some pace. As such, we are following up the recommendations made in that report with the intention of publishing a formal update on progress later in the year.
The Chair has, therefore, written to the recently appointed Adviser to the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister on AI, Henry de Zoete, asking for a meeting to discuss the recommendations in that report.
