The Committee’s 2020 AI report made recommendations to government, regulators and public bodies, to assist in the development of a stronger and more coherent regulatory and governance framework for AI in the public sector.

Three years on, it is clear that AI developments have moved on at some pace. As such, we are following up the recommendations made in that report with the intention of publishing a formal update on progress later in the year.

The Chair has, therefore, written to Lord Camrose, Minister for AI and Intellectual Property, asking for an update on what progress the government has made against recommendations 1-8 in that report.
