Details

The programme allows local authorities to bid for capital project support to deliver projects aimed at tackling exceedances of the UK nitrogen dioxide (NO2) objectives and other pollutants. Defra’s air quality grant programme 2013 to 2014 closed to eligible local authorities on 28 June 2013.

Eligibility

The grant was limited to English Local Authorities with one or more Air Quality Management Areas for Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), declared on or before 31 March 2013; and/or those authorities where Defra’s national air quality assessment in 2011 (as reported to the EU Commission) identified an exceedance in their area.
