Details of the application
Allensmore Nurseries Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number WA/055/0016/008 which authorises the abstraction of water from underground strata comprising of gravels at Madley, Herefordshire.
The water is abstracted from two boreholes and a ringwell located at National Grid References SO 41677 37441, SO 41524 37630 and SO 41750 37795.
The variation applied for is to increase the maximum yearly abstraction quantity from the ringwell at National Grid Reference SO 41750 37795 from 24,220 cubic metres to 48,440 cubic metres. The water will be used between April and September inclusive for filling a reservoir for subsequent trickle irrigation.
