Allied Joint Publication (AJP)-4.4, Allied Joint Movement and Transportation Doctrine (Edition B Version 1) provides operational-level movement and transport guidance for planning and conducting North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) operations and exercises.

The doctrine covers both the movement and transport system and the movement process with the aim of contributing to the commander’s freedom of action.

Who should read this publication

This publication is intended primarily for commanders and staff at the joint operational level. It also provides guidance for all levels of command and is instructive for coalition and NATO partners.
