This paper focuses on the important role that analysis plays in defining, shaping, designing and monitoring interventions funded by the Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF). It is meant to provide readers with a general background on analysis, as well as analytical approaches in support of stabilisation planning. Whilst reference is made to a number of bilateral and multilateral analytical approaches used in the field today, focus is given to HMG’s current analytical framework supporting conflict and stabilisation – the Joint Analysis of Conflict and Stability (JACS).
