Anglian Water Services Limited: application made to abstract water

Anglian Water Services Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The following applications have been made to replace on the same terms time limited conditions to existing licences which are due to expire on 31 December 2022:
Application Number: NPS/WR/036707; Licence Number: 8/36/11/*G/0070 Source of water, location and National Grid Reference: Groundwater in Suffolk at TL 69 47; The variation being: Abstraction from an additional source at 7,000 cubic metres per day. Abstraction total to remain 17,300 cubic metres per day 20,000,000 cubic metres in any five year period.
Application Number: NPS/WR/037895; Licence Number: 6/33/37/G/0205 Source of water, location and National Grid Reference: Groundwater in Suffolk at TL 77 65; The variation being: Change to the group licence aggregate with licences 6/33/37/G/0031, 6/33/37/G/0032, 6/33/37/G/0200 and 6/33/37/*G/0428/R02 from 7,468,000 to 8,000,000 cubic metres per year.
The following application has been made to replace on the same terms an existing licence which is due to expire on 31 December 2022:
Application Number: NPS/WR/036592; Licence Number: 6/33/37/G/0428/R02 Source of water, location and National Grid Reference: Groundwater in Suffolk at TL 86 61; The licence authorising the abstraction of 288 cubic metres per hour, 6,912 cubic metres per day, 2,500,000 cubic metres per year. This licence is subject to an aggregate with 6/33/37/G/0205, 6/33/37/G/0031, 6/33/37/G/0200 and 6/33/37/*G/0032 of 8,000,000 cubic metres per year (an increase from 7,468,000 cubic metres per year).
For all applications the water will be abstracted all year and used for public water supply.
For all applications the Applicant has applied to abstract on the same terms as presently authorised. The Applicant opposes reductions being made to the authorised annual abstraction quantities, designed to avoid the risk of waterbody deterioration, being made immediately, citing (amongst other things) over-riding public interest under Regulation 19 of the Water Environment (Water Framework Directive) (England and Wales) Regulations 2017.
