Anglian Water Services Limited: application made to abstract water

Anglian Water Services Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number MD/028/0069/019 which authorises the abstraction of water from the River Trent at National Grid Reference SK 82 73 near Lincoln, Lincolnshire.
The variation applied for is: to enable abstraction at low flows in the River Trent to enable public water supply during drought. This will be done using a trade with two other licences that will enable the following quantities to be abstracted below the existing ‘hands off flow’ on the licence:
- 40,000 cubic metres per day
- 1,800,000 cubic metres per year.
