Anglian Water Services Limited: application made to abstract water

Anglian Water Services Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number 7/34/13/*G/0163 which authorises the abstraction of water from Chalk underground strata at High Oak, Wicklewood, Norfolk for the purpose of public water supply.
The variation applied for is to add a new abstraction point (borehole) at National Grid Reference (NGR) TG 04628 02162 and a new purpose of stream support to transfer water to the Hackford Watercourse at NGR TG 04749 01349. Stream support will occur up to 1,500 cubic metres per day when the flow is less than 5,000 cubic metres per day in the River Tiffey.
The application is also to reduce the annual abstraction quantity for the purpose of public water supply from 2,400,000 cubic metres to 1,971,000 cubic metres with effect from 01 April 2025.
