Authorisation notice allowing tank vehicles, which are excluded from holding annual roadworthiness test certificates, or, whose annual roadworthiness test certificate has been extended, to remain in service on the roads of Great Britain without a valid ADR 1(C) certificate.
Authorisation notice allowing tank vehicles:
- which are excluded from holding annual roadworthiness test certificates
- whose annual roadworthiness test certificate has been extended
- who hold a valid annual roadworthiness test certificate, a notification from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency that the vehicle or MEMU in question is ready to be presented for an ADR 1(C) inspection, and a pre-booked appointment for that inspection to take place within 6 weeks of the notification
to remain in service on the roads of Great Britain without a valid ADR 1(C) certificate.
The affected tank vehicle types, as defined in section 9.1.1.2 of volume II of ADR (PDF, 11.9 MB), are:
- EX
- FL
- AT
- MEMU

Consequential amendments arising from Authorisation 947 Rev.1 and Authorisation 476 Rev.4 to make it clear that the declarations referred to therein are accepted as an alternative to a valid ADR 1(C) inspection certificate.
