Directions under section 31A

The registrar has given the following Directions under section 31A of the Registered Designs Act 1949 (“the Act”).

These Directions direct the use of a revised form DF2A for making an application to the Patent Office for the registration of a design, as set out in the Schedule to these Directions.

Under section 12(5) of the Intellectual Property Act 2014, when these Directions come into effect, that part of Schedule 1 of the Registered Designs Rules 2006, the use of the previous version of form DF2A, is revoked. The previous version of form DF2A will therefore no longer be accepted after these Directions come into force.

These Directions come into force on 19 December 2017
