This report provides information on the volumes and outcomes of apprenticeship end-point assessments (EPAs) taken by apprentices in England from March 2023 to February 2024.
The data in this report only relates to EPAs regulated by Ofqual. It does not include integrated higher and degree apprenticeships regulated by the Office for Students.
Publishing information about EPA outcomes helps secure parity of treatment for apprentices, by helping to give a definitive picture of the number of apprentices taking regulated EPA.
Key headlines
The data shows that, between March 2023 and February 2024:
- EPAs in 569 apprenticeship standards were in scope for Ofqual regulation. Out of the 149 awarding organisations (AOs) recognised by Ofqual to offer EPAs, 132 AOs delivered EPAs across 456 apprenticeship standards.
- 159,875 EPAs regulated by Ofqual were taken by apprentices and 144,895 EPAs were completed
- Business and administration has the highest volume of EPAs, with 33,730 completed across different apprenticeships. This equates to 23.3% of all completed EPAs regulated by Ofqual
- City and Guilds delivered the highest number of EPAs (18,965 EPAs completed). This equates to 13.1% of all completed EPAs regulated by Ofqual
