The automotive roadmap outlines joint government and industry commitments to achieve the decarbonisation of road transport.

It is the first in a series of roadmaps to be published over the course of 2022 for each sector of the Prime Minister’s Ten Point Plan, showcasing how the UK is delivering on its green commitments.

The automotive roadmap brings together the government’s already announced policies that will enable the automotive sector transition to zero emission vehicles and enable businesses plan more effectively for that.

The transition to zero emission vehicles will also support the UK’s energy security by reducing our demand for petrol and diesel. The future electricity demand is supported by our aim to supercharge our domestic renewable energy and nuclear capacity.
