Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from the underground strata comprising of chalk and upper greensand to transfer it for the purpose of dewatering within the area enclosed by National Grid References (NGRs) ST 99529 63870, SU 03761 63749, SU 03740 62951 and ST 99508 63072 near Roundway, Denvizes to adjacent grassland via soakaways at NGRs ST 99877 63528, SU 03495 63030, SU 02919 63403, SU 02352 63669, SU 01281 63561, SU 00854 63437, ST 99984 63369, ST 99505 63581 and SU 03290 63273 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 648 cubic metres an hour

  • 6,480 cubic metres a day

  • 120,000 cubic metres a year

  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
