Bathgate Silica Sand Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.
The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Weaver and Dane catchment.
The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:
- at an instantaneous rate of 77.4 litres per second
- 279 cubic metres an hour
- 6,688 cubic metres a day
- 943,969 cubic metres a year
- between 01 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
- an area between National Grid References (NGRs) SJ 77650 61780, SJ 77650 60280, SJ 79040 61780 and SJ 79040 60280
- from abstraction location underground strata comprising sands and gravels at Arclid Quarry, Sandbach.
The water will be used for transfer for the purpose of dewatering.
