Details

This report provides a body of information on the measurement, assessment and control of environmental noise from facilities and activities of the type covered by the Integrated Pollution Prevention & Control (IPPC) Directive and the Waste Management Licensing Regulations, although it could potentially be of wider application. Vibration is also addressed in an environmental context but detailed discussion on the subject is left to specialist publications. This report forms an information source from which the Agency will develop internal guidance and training. The report is not intended to be used in isolation from the relevant Environment Agency guidance for the purpose of regulatory decision-making.
