Dear [redacted]

I write in response an email received from you to our office on 31 August 2023 in which you asked:

“if your department or agency hosts any communications channels dedicated to gender critical people or the SEEN network. These might be on Teams, Yammer, Slack, etc…”

Your request has been handled as a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

You noted in your email that you had previously asked for this information on 13 July 2023. Unfortunately, my office did not receive your initial request, which may be due to the inbox issues the office has been experiencing.

I am a regulator, independent of, but appointed by government. My office is a team of Home Office staff who make use of Home Office systems. My office does not have any such dedicated communications channels but, as an arms-length body of the Home Office, we do receive these communications via their channels. Therefore, you may wish to consider a separate request to be made to the Home Office under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act should you still require the information you have asked for.

If you are dissatisfied with this response, you may request an independent internal review of our handling of your request by submitting a complaint within two months to the address below, quoting reference BSCC- FOI-1423-HD. If you ask for an internal review, it would be helpful if you could say why you are dissatisfied with the response.

As part of any internal review, our handling of your information request will be reassessed by staff who were not involved in providing you with this response. If you remain dissatisfied after this internal review, you would have a right of complaint to the Information Commissioner as established by section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act.

Kind regards,

Fraser Sampson

Biometrics and Surveillance Camera Commissioner
